A new Advent and Christmas series and Facilitator's Guide
This Advent and Christmas seasons, prepare your heart with a short daily reading from Episcopal priest and author Barbara Cawthorne Crafton. In a new audio email series from CREDO, Crafton reads from her recently republished book
Let Every Heart Prepare: Meditations for Advent and Christmas. Advent provides "times of introspection, times of resetting, times of rebooting your spiritual life to prepare you for what is about to happen," explains Crafton. "Taking a slow down, taking a step back, taking a quiet time away from the frenzy ... and the unrealistically high expectations, centers you and plugs you back in to who you really are."
Each of Crafton's readings begins with a few lines of a hymn from The Hymnal 1982. The recordings also feature an organ rendition of the hymn as a musical coda concluding the meditation and allowing time for reflection. Let Every Heart Prepare is available in a pocket-size edition from
Morehouse Publishing, an imprint of Church Publishing Incorporated.
The six-week series, which runs from the First Sunday in Advent to the Feast of the Epiphany, also features Crafton reading her
Sunday reflections on video, which can be paired with a CREDO Facilitator's Guide for an easy-to-lead Sunday study series for use at individual churches.
You can sign up for CREDO's Facilitator's Guide when you enroll in the Let Every Heart Prepare reflection series.
