GSA Contract Awarded TLM
Toyota Forklift Toyota Lift of Minnesota is proud to announce we have been awarded a federal government contract.  The General Services Administration (GSA) issued GS-07F-115AA to us 1-15-2013.  This contract will enable TLM to provide Toyota forklifts, batteries, and chargers to our military, prisons, and Homeland Security posts to name a few large users of forklifts by our federal government.

The increased revenue will allow us to expand our business and make us more competitive in an already competitive industry. This contract is only given to companies who can demonstrate quality, integrity, and value. If Toyota Lift of MN is worthy of serving the largest customer in the world, we should be well positioned to take care of your needs as well.

If you are an organization receiving federal funding, you are able to take advantage of the pre-negotiated discounting that has been arranged.  Please contact us today to find out more.

The Means for the Machine
Forklift Rental From an article through Material Handling and Logistics. Flexible financial plans allow cash-strapped companies to get the lift trucks they need without a long-term commitment. By author Mary Aichlmayr:

Most material handling equipment dealers never expected to morph into something resembling a financial adviser. They provide the machine, not the means.

But times have changed. It's difficult to find a corporate manager exempt from the seemingly contradictory directives to reduce capital outlay while increasing operational effectiveness. Material handling professionals in all industry verticals must do more with less.

To preserve their own competitiveness, leading equipment dealers are crossing the line that once separated those who sell equipment from those who make equipment financially accessible.

Today, there are many ways to obtain lift trucks without desecrating the bottom line. The trick is sifting through the numerous solutions available. Although it's easy to find sources for renting, financing or leasing lift trucks these days, clear definitions of those concepts can be hard to come by, and now is not the time for guessing.

Forklift Planned Maintenance: By the Book
van.jpg The forklift planned maintenance service call is the backbone of what we have to offer to our customer base. That said it can be an effort that is discounted in its significance by some simply because it is not overly exciting, it's routine and for the most part inexpensive.

A properly performed planned maintenance or PM call, will of course accomplish the normal servicing of the unit involving lubrication and fluid changes, but it also involves a well defined and intricate list of points to be inspected during the visit. It's this attention to detail that often defines us as a dealership, and separates us from most of the competition.

Low Cost Forklift Parts: As Long at They Make You Feel Good
In a conversation in my office last week on the topic of non-OEM parts, there was almost universal agreement on/in the area of electrical. From cheap low-price spark plugs, wire sets and other electronics we've all seen the horror stories of the repairs that went long, and horribly wrong. Universal agreement was reached on distributors. We did center around direct replacement distributors, sometimes at least in the past you might be able to purchase the exact Delco or Prestolite distributor, but more recent times you seem to see only knock offs, and these lead only to trouble.

The Lowly Pallet
Pallet Image They're everywhere it seems, too often they're in the way or simply laying around abandoned. Have you ever given any thought to where they come from, or their life cycle?

Premier Handling published just an infographic and article. Their article read:

The increasing costs of shipping and handling goods has strengthened the resolve of the material handling industry to find productive ways to cut costs. One of the most effective ways to increase efficiency is caring for the pallets our goods are shipped on. Spending time to repair, reuse, and recycle pallets also makes a significant impact on the environmental footprint of the material handling industry.

It's extremely important to keep pallets in use for as long as possible while still maintaining a safe structure. Recycling pallets eliminates waste, cuts cost, and improves efficiency. Everyone is a winner when we care for the environment!

Spread the word by sharing this Life Cycle of a Pallet Infographic with your friends, family, and coworkers!
