2016 Get Outdoors PA Mini-Grant Awardees
Nine Community Partners Receive $17,030 in Grant Funding
The Get Outdoors PA Mini-Grant Program awarded $17,030 in its second round of mini-grants to nine Get Outdoors PA Community Partners across the state. The mini-grants provide Get Outdoors PA Community Partners with additional tools, specifically training and equipment, for implementing quality Get Outdoors PA programs. They provide up to 50% of the costs associated with training and/or total equipment purchase, but may not exceed $3,000. Grantees are responsible for the remaining costs of at least 50% or more of total costs. Only Get Outdoors PA Community Partners approved in 2015 or earlier were eligible for the 2016 grant round. We thank all those who applied and congratulate the 2016 recipients listed here. Visit www.getoutdoorspa.org if you're interested in learning more about the Get Outdoors PA program.
The Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society, Inc. administers this mini-grant program, which is funded in part by a grant from the Environmental Stewardship Fund under the auspices of the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation.
See - engagement with PRPS pays off!
We are happy to announce that the winner of the drawing for participating in our recent survey on the impacts of the Department of Human Services Child Care Certification regulations is Sarah Colondrillo of South Middleton Township. She wins a $50 credit toward future PRPS Training!

Additionally, we thank everyone who submitted information on their preschool programming in the survey. The results are being analyzed and summarized. An action plan to change or clarify the regulations to exempt park and recreation agencies from compliance with these regulations will be developed by the Governmental Affairs Committee. We'll keep you posted!
