Greenways & Trails Summit Host & Location Selected
The 2017 PA Greenways and Trails Summit will be hosted by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) and local hosts-Schuylkill River National and State Heritage Area and Berks Nature-in fall 2017. The local hosts bring the event to Reading, PA, where the summit's primary educational and networking events will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton. The area is rich with trails and parks, including the world-class Schuylkill River Trail, as well as cultural and entertainment amenities. The Request for Proposals to host the premier 2 ½ day event was issued in early 2016. Seven unique proposals were submitted from organizations around the state. Day Care Certification Survey 
We issued a very important survey yesterday regarding the impact of 
DHS Day Care Certification at your facilities. Please take the survey and give us all the data we are looking for so we can continue to offer the support. By taking the survey you will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 credit toward future PRPS training. Deadline is 6/24/16.

The PRPS Event Coordinator is a take-charge professional who manages events from conception to clean up. He /she manages the administration, budget, and logistics of numerous one-time events as well as ongoing professional development and technical assistance programs; statewide conferences, institutes and summits; as well as training workshops and webinars.

 DCNR Civil Service Testing 

Civil Service testing is available for opportunities to work for the Bureau of Recreation and Conservation for three classifications including Recreation and Conservation Trainee and Recreation and Conservation Advisors I & II.  Interested, qualified professionals are encouraged to take the exams through the State Civil Service Commission website. The closing date for testing is June 25.
