Does Your Agency Participate in a Park Prescription Program?
NRPA seeks to understand how local park and recreation agencies are implementing and participating in park prescription programs. "Park prescriptions" is a community health initiative in which healthcare providers prescribe time in parks to prevent and treat chronic disease and promote wellness. Park prescriptions may vary across communities, but they all share a common goal to improve physical and mental health among individuals and communities.

Clarification: License not required for Summer Camps
The Departments of Education and Human Services/ Bureau of Certification Services states that Public Recreation Programs do NOT need to be licensed as a day care facility. Camps not licensed include; camps that provide 24 hour care for children; a camp that serves a population comprised of children enrolled in the kindergarten and older that operates 90 or fewer calendar days per year; public recreation programs; school-operated recreation programs; and sports oriented community activities.
