Don't miss this years summit! We are offering over 30 educational sessions, and 7 mobile workshops. Your best option is to register for the full summit package for $145 member or $180 non-member. The full summit includes sessions, mobile workshops, exhibits, refreshment breaks, lunch on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, and the dinner and networking events on Sunday and Monday. If you can't attend the full summit, we have daily options available.

The lodging deadline has been extended to September 5. The discounted rates are $115.00 single/double plus 9% tax and include a deluxe continental breakfast buffet.

Resource Operations Workshop Open!
 
Our upcoming Resource Operations workshop on October 22, will be held at Cabela's in Hamburg, PA. This workshop is designed for parks and recreation field staff, public works, maintenance personnel, natural resource technicians, school maintenance staff, park resource students and park professionals.

Volunteer Opportunities at Hersheypark

HP Logo Help raise funds for PRPS by participating in Hersheypark's volunteer program. This is a great opportunity for your agency's staff to all volunteer on the same day and support PRPS at the same time.

Did you know... CPRPs and CPREs can receive continuing education credit for their involvement in PRPS?

 

Professional Service Experience Points (PSE) can be earned through service provided to the parks and recreation profession. Together with the traditional CEU or academic credit, PSE credits enable individuals to renew professional certification by utilizing their professional activities, such as: 
  • Service as an Officer, Chairperson, or Committee Member of NRPA, the NRPA Networks, or a State Association
  • Service as a Speaker, Presenter, or Instructor at NRPA or State Association conferences or seminars, or guest speaker at accredited universities and colleges
  • Articles for NRPA or State Association magazines

Park Maintenance Management School Scholarship Available

Are you someone who manages park and recreation maintenance programs? If so, then don't miss your opportunity to further your professional development by attending the Maintenance Management School (MMS) presented in partnership with North Carolina State University, National Training Center at Olgebay, and the National Recreation and Park Association. In this two-year program you will discuss an array of topics that impact the work you do and can learn how to develop and manage a wide variety of maintenance programs. You'll start with sessions that examine the elements of maintenance and then move on to advanced topics such as environmental restoration and site amenity maintenance. Year two students work collaboratively to design their own maintenance plan.

STIHL, Inc., the official sponsor of MMS, is offering a scholarship that will provide financial assistance for costs to attend. The STIHL, Inc. scholarship application is available at
www.nrpa.org/mms. Applications must be received by October 1, 2015.

MMS will be held January 31-February 5, 2016 at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. Registration is open, so learn more and register now at
