The Conference Site Selection Committee is considering proposals from venues for our Annual Conferences in 2018, 2019 and beyond. Public Tree Management Training
The Penn State Extension Urban Forestry Program, in partnership with DCNR Bureau of Forestry, is planning a comprehensive program to train and assist municipal shade tree commissioners and staff gain knowledge and skills in the effective management of public trees in Pennsylvania communities to maximize environmental, social, and economic benefits. This training would cover 20 topics and may be offered over several days or various formats including live and web-based.

Get Outdoors in the PA Wilds: Outdoor Opportunities at the 2015 Greenways and Trails Summit
 
From the Allegheny National Forest to the Conewango Creek, the 2015 Greenways and Trails Summit has something for everyone. Attend the full summit and choose from over forty educational opportunities or just get outdoors in the PA Wilds by attending a mobile workshop on Sunday, September 20th for only $25!
 
The mobile's will have you paddling down the 2015 PA River of the Year, walking the Kinzua skywalk, hiking through PA's only National Forest and more. Finish the day at the historic Struthers Library Theatre and the Conewango Club in downtown Warren for a reception and dinner. Attendees can network while exploring the 18th oldest operating theater in the United States and enjoying bowling, darts and pool.

Lodging Information:
Reserve your discounted lodging at the Warren Holiday Inn by calling (814) 726- 3000 and using the room block name Greenways and Trails Summit/ PA Rec and Park. The discounted rates are$115.00 single/double plus 9% tax and include a deluxe continental breakfast buffet. This rate will only be available until August 24 or until the room block is full.
  
The Summit is funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

DCNR renames Lackawanna State Forest District 

DCNR has renamed Lackawanna State Forest District in honor of Gifford Pinchot in a move marking the 150th anniversary of the conservation pioneer's birth and saluting his creation of forestry practices that continue to shape and benefit Pennsylvania's forests to this day. Read more

Member Request - Field Use Calendar

Does anyone have any recommendations on a user friendly, inexpensive program for a Field Use Calendar? The township has six athletic fields that are used by various sports within our township.
