Reminder Governmental Affairs Survey Deadline 7/17

 

The Governmental Affairs Committee tracks all legislation that impacts recreation and parks in the state, studies the needs of the profession, and recommends legislative actions necessary to attain and advance the objectives of the Society.

 

To maximize its efforts, the Committee is looking for willing PRPS Members, properly informed, who may be able to reach out to their local legislators if and when needed.

District II Fundraising Opportunity

 

HP Logo Hersheypark is reaching out in anticipation of their normal staffing issues they have around mid-August thru September, as their young employees head back to school.  Help raise funds for PRPS by participating in Hersheypark's volunteer program this season. This is a great opportunity for your agency's staff to all volunteer on the same day and support PRPS at the same time.

 

Please note that the availability of any given date may change at any time as other organizations are scheduling dates. It is important to schedule as early as possible. You may volunteer for more than one shift if you wish and other family and friends may volunteer as well, provided they are at least 18 years of age. Volunteers must have no known violent, criminal sexual or felony convictions and no outstanding warrants.

Fall Swimming Pool Workshops now Available

 

The Swimming Pool Management 101 class is an in-depth pool management course for individuals not currently certified, who are preparing to take the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Core and Category 24 (Swimming Pools) pesticide applicator exams.  Books and study guides are included in the registration fee.

 

The Recertification Workshop is for individuals who currently hold a pesticide applicators license, and are seeking renewal credits to maintain their certification.  This class offers 6 Core and 4 Category 24 pesticide applicator credits.
