by Emily Gates, Special Projects Coordinator, PRPS

The Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) is pleased to announce that the City of Warren will be hosting the 2015 Greenways and Trails Summit on September 20-22, 2015.  Warren is located in northwest Pennsylvania at the confluence of two recognized water trails, the Conewango Creek and the Allegheny River as well as the convergence of the Lumber Heritage Region, Route 6 Alliance, and the Pennsylvania Wilds to create a Heritage Community with more than 600 miles of both historical and recreational trails!

The selected host committee is comprised of five partnering organizations: City of Warren; Warren County Visitors Bureau; Warren County; Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry; and Allegheny Community Center. They encourage sustainable tourism development and community revitalization by highlighting nature tourism through individual and joint ventures within the city and across the county.
