First Story Time Session of 2013

Terrific Tales Story Time with The Storybook Mom- Nili Yelin

 

Who's Invited: All AIM High students, parents, mentors, and friends with younger siblings or children between the ages of 3 and 10.

What: A FREE, fun and interactive family literacy time with The Storybook Mom- Nili Yelin

Why: This is an opportunity for the whole family to fall in love with reading!

Where: West Englewood Library 1745 W. 63rd Street

When:

January 19th and one Saturday a month throughout the school year.  

 

 

FREE FOOD, BOOKS, AND GIVEAWAYS!

Welcome New AIM High Mentors!

Thank you for signing up as a Mentor in the AIM High program. There are a few steps that we would still need from you. First, please click here to submit your contact information so that we may enter you in our system. Then, please look below and select a date for New Mentor Orientation from below.  

 

New Mentor Orientation Dates!

If you have not gone through New Mentor Orientation yet, or would like a refresher course on it, register here for one of the following dates.   

 

- Friday, January 11th - This training will start at 11:30 a.m.  

- January 14th, from 12pm to 1pm    

 

Mentor Training: This Friday at 12:30 pm!

Mentors, please note the changed time for this training. Instead of beginning at the usual 12pm start time, we will be going from 12:30pm to 1:30 pm.

 

Mentors, if you have not done so already, please make sure  to complete the DePaul University Research Study

Information for Schools

TOUCHPOINT: Work Readiness Workshop

 

* UPDATE*   Being that many of you were returning back to school from break around that time, and would not be able to make the first half of the trip, we have decided to move the entire event to after school hours. The new time for the event will now be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

 

This year, the Work Readiness Workshop will focus on Diversity!  Students will participate in an interactive presentation on diversity in schools, the workplace, and society.  Mentors more than welcome to attend, especially since this event leads directly into the AIM High Alumni Event.

 

Date: Tuesday, January 8th, 2013.

Time of Event: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. 

Time of Transportation: Students will depart from school at 4:00pm.

Location: Seyfarth Shaw, 131 South Dearborn St. #2400 Chicago, IL 60603

Who's Invited: All AIM High Students.  Mentors optional.

Transportation:  Provided for CTD, NLCP and Urban Prep-Bronzeville students. 
Students coming from UCW and Urban Prep -Englewood campuses pay $6 each. Bus will pick up and drop off all students at Urban Prep-Englewood.

Cost: Free!
