Spirit Week Dress Rules
| |
If you do not dress up, you must wear your homecoming t-shirt with jeans OR regular school apparel.
BRING ALTERNATIVE CLOTHES WITH YOU JUST IN CASE YOU ARE ASKED TO CHANGE (if there is ANY doubt that your clothes will be deemed appropriate).
Skirt length regulations remain the same.
Nike shorts are allowed as long as they are not rolled up and if leggings are worn beneath them.
No bare midriffs or plunging necklines.
Shirts with sleeves must be worn beneath tank tops or spaghetti strap tops.
No flip-flops or swim shoes (Crocs are ok).
No saggy or baggy jeans.
You will be judged by your creativity and connection to the theme of the day. Official count of those who dressed up in your grade will take place during first period and Spirit Points will be awarded
based on the percentage of each class dressed appropriately each day.

PTL Homecoming BBQ Dinner

 The PTL Homecoming BBQ Dinner will be October 19th.
Come out and support the PTL by purchasing BBQ plates for the PTL's Annual Homecoming BBQ Dinner. Enjoy a delicious Mikeska's BBQ dinner of succulent smoked chicken, tender beef brisket, coleslaw, buttery potatos and green beans, all washed down with a glasses of cold iced tea or ice cold lemonade. Mikeska's will be serving this wonderful dinner from 5pm to 6:45pm. Be sure to save room for dessert, --- scrumptious rich, fudgy chocolate brownies prepared by our famous PTL bakers.
Afterwards sit back and watch the battle between the LHN Lions and the Westbury Christian Wildcats.
Pre-sale dinners are $12 until October 12th! That's today!
After October 12th, dinners are $15.
So don't delay, make your reservations early.

Volunteers Needed!

LHN Parents:
Volunteers are still needed for the PTL Homecoming BBQ Dinner on October 19th. Support the PTL by volunteering 30-60 minutes of your time before the football game between the LHN Lions and the Westbury Christian Wildcats. Or help on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
HOW TO VOLUNTEER

3. Click "SIGN UP" for October 18th or 19th. Input your information and click "SIGN UP" again. This will enter your information in the Master Schedule.
4. You will also receive an email reminder. Please don't ignore it!
5. You can return to this site at any time, edit your choices and make changes.
SIGN UP NOW! This is an easy way to organize our LHN volunteers and coordinate their responsibilities. Watch for notices about future opportunities to volunteer.

Pie In the Face Contest

Got some spare change laying around? Make sure to stop by the lobby and vote for your Pie In the Face nominee! Place your vote by donating money for your favorite student, faculty, staff member or coach. The nominees that have collected the most donations will get a Pie In the Face at the Pep Rally on Homecoming Friday, October 19th.

LHN Golf Tournament A Success!

The Lutheran High North Fall 2012 Golf Tournament turned out to be a wonderful success. The weather was amazing and 112 golfers showed up to take part in this fun event. In all, over $10,000 was raised to benefit the Lutheran High North Athletic Department.
Please save the date for October 14th, 2013 for next year's annual golf tournament.

PSAT Practice Test for Juniors
| |
Juniors who want more preparation for the PSAT may take practice test sections during Lion Success Hour in room 103. There are five sections (two math sections which take 25 minutes each, two reading sections which take 25 minutes each, and one writing section which takes 30 minutes). These are in addition to the practice test booklet students have that they may do on their own.

Wednesday, October 17th, is a very important day for LHN students. The students will be taking the tests described below. They should be well rested and eat a good breakfast. They will be dismissed from school when their test is finished (approximately 11:30).

Moms In Touch

 Moms In Touch is currently meeting in the chapel of the Harriet and Joe Foster Family YMCA at 1234 W. 34th Street on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 10:00am. They begin with a Bible reading, devotion and end with prayer. All women are welcome whether you are a mom, aunt, grandma, or just a woman who God is calling to pray with other women for the students, staff, faculty, and ministry of Lutheran High North.
