Dear Oak Knoll Parents,
The book I write during retirement may be, "Three Secrets to Becoming a Successful Principal."
- Find a school with amazing parents who will commit limitless time, energy, and expertise; parents who love their children and want to create a special future for them.
- Work only with teachers who are smart, talented and have endless energy.
- Pick a district where the community rallies around its schools to provide the resources excellence requires.
I've discovered the secret, but it turns out that schools like Oak Knoll and communities like Menlo Park are quite uncommon. Thank you all so much for the rare opportunity to lead this amazing school. Your efforts on behalf of our children are such a great example of how through the sheer force of its will and its collective energy a community creates the schools it desires. I will always be grateful. I am truly fortunate to have worked with such a wonderful group of parents. I'm so proud of what we accomplished together. I'll always be an Otter.
