Letter from PTO President

Welcome to the 2014-15 school year!

I hope you are having a great summer and that you and your kids are excited to start the school year! As you know, school starts Wednesday, August 20. The class lists will be posted Friday, August 15.

As we head into the school year, I think it is important to stop and think about what makes Oak Knoll so special (besides our amazing teachers and staff!)....and that is YOU! The time and energy our parents, grandparents and friends give to the school each year is astounding. Every year at least 4000 volunteer hours are logged at the school! Thank you in advance for everything you do.

Below please find a list of important dates and events to put on your calendar:

Friday, August 15

  • Back to School Coffee - 8:15 am - If you haven't volunteered yet or are looking for new opportunities this year, please come to the Back-to-School Coffee in the gym right after drop off where you can talk with Committee Chairs and sign up for committees. A full list of PTO Committees and activities is available on the PTO Committees page of the Oak Knoll School Website.

INSPIRE- INVOLVE - INVEST   The PTO and the MPAEF continue their collaboration to make Oak Knoll the best it can be for our kids. When you support the PTO, you make possible curriculum enrichment, field trips, community building events, and well-supplied classrooms. When you support the MPAEF, you are putting more teachers in our schools - both in the classroom and in specialized areas such as art, music, drama, library and science. These are what make a real difference in your child's day and, ultimately, in their education. Please support these organizations today! PTO donations are due by September 24. Donations, pledges and payments to the MPAEF are due by November 20.

Enjoy your last few weeks of summer and I look forward to seeing you at Oak Knoll on Wednesday, August 20.

Best wishes,

Jill Wurster

2014-15 Oak Knoll PTO President
