Call for Service Award Nominations
Every year our District is fortunate to have parents, teachers, staff, and community volunteers give generously of their time, skills, and creativity to our schools. Many programs would not exist if it was not for this formidable group of volunteers, "the Pillars of our Community." Honorary Service Awards (HSAs) as well as the School Service Awards (SSAs) recognize those individuals who have contributed in an extraordinary way to our District.
Please take a moment to nominate someone you know who goes above and beyond to make a difference in our schools. To nominate an individual, please click here to complete an online nomination form by Friday, April 5.

The Hillview PTO Executive Board needs YOU!!!
Interested in joining the Hillview board and making a difference? The Hillview Nominating Committee is seeking PTO members to join the 2013-2014 Executive Board. Please consider volunteering your time and talent. It's a great way to learn about Hillview, be involved in PTO decisions and add value to the school. Incoming 6th grade parents are especially encouraged to join the board. In particular, we are looking for two enthusiastic Co-Vice Presidents to lead Hillview's PTO in the coming years. If you are considering getting more involved, please contact Karen Wang!

The Red Carpet is Coming to Menlo Park!
Extreme By Design, A Documentary Film and Panel Discussion
Thursday, April 18, 6:15pm-8:45pm
Hillview Performing Arts Center
The new documentary film Extreme By Design, airing nationwide on PBS later this year, will have its premiere at the Hillview Performing Arts Center in a very special event for our District. The hour-long movie follows a band of Stanford University students who design products and services to change the lives of the world's poorest citizens. Using design thinking methods to maximize innovation, these students delve into real world problems, the results of which are actual implementation and real change. Ralph King, Jr., Extreme By Design filmmaker and Pulitzer Prize nominee, will open the screening, and a panel of Menlo Park City School District teachers and administrators, graduate students and the film producer will follow with a discussion on how both Stanford and MPCSD students are using design thinking to tackle challenges big and small with an innovator's mindset.
To register for this event, click here.
