Dear Oak Knoll Families, I have some exciting news to share with you. Together, we have the opportunity to raise $50,000 for our District and Oak Knoll School. We can do this through the MPAEF Participation Challenge, which starts today. What exactly is the Challenge? 80% of our families must donate or pledge to the MPAEF by February 28th. If that challenge is met, a generous District family will award $50,000 to the MPAEF for this year's grant to the District. It's that simple-every donation or pledge received between now and February 28, whether it's $10 or $10,000, helps our schools earn that $50,000. You've likely heard our superintendent, Maurice Ghysels, talk about how Oak Knoll is a community-funded school. The Challenge is a perfect opportunity for our Oak Knoll community to prove this is true! So, how are we doing? Currently, Oak Knoll's participation is 62%. This is a great start, but we have work to do to meet the goal of 80%. I cannot stress how important everyone's donation to the MPAEF is to Oak Knoll. These donations currently fund 31 teachers (that's 1 out of every 6 teachers in our District!) and is the difference between our current class sizes and potentially 4 more kids in every Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade class and up to 7 more kids in every 4th and 5th grade class! Let's begin meeting-and beating-the Challenge today! Donate or pledge to the MPAEF at http://bit.ly/DonateMPAEF. If you have questions about the MPAEF Participation Challenge or how Oak Knoll benefits, please don't hesitate to contact me at dackerman@mpcsd.org. Regards, David Ackerman, Principal
