12-12-12 Is Backbone's 9th Birthday!

Dear Friends, Affinity group's frist banner

As you probably sense, we don't get a lot of down time at the Backbone Campaign. But today is the ninth anniversary of our very first house party in 2003. It seemed important to pull myself out of preparations for tomorrow's big Coal Port/Coal Train related actions in Seattle and honor this moment.

BAckbone at 2004 DNC in BostonYou might never finish reading this email if I thanked all those who have been essential along the path, listed all the accomplishment and lessons of the years, or shared all our exciting future plans. And I would fail to get the last bit of organizing done I must do before I head to my Daughter Aziza's first band concert.

So, I ask you to do these three things:

  1. Take a look at what a Google image search for "Backbone Campaign" generates HERE.
  2. Consider what it means to you to have those images as part of your movement. Chain Gang in Crawford
  3. Then, if you are able, make an end of year contribution HERE with the confidence that our lean organization will amplify your generosity with efficiency, and propel your aspirations for a better world forward with strategic beauty.
I wake up every morning grateful for your support, honored by the opportunity to do this work, and hungry for the beautiful struggle for justice.

In collaboration and gratitude,

Bill MoyerProcession for the Future

PS - PLEASE like us on Facebook. Much of our day to day communications happen there. And if you are in the Seattle area, join us tomorrow for the Soul NOT Coal actions (call Eric HERE) and party - tickets HERE.
