According to the Q1 2014 Mergers and Acquisitions Report filed by the Jordan Edmiston Group, Inc. (JEGI) at the beginning of the month, M&A in b-to-b media have skyrocketed. While in Q1 2013, JEGI noted eight deals accounting for $102 million worth of value, this year opened with 12 deals worth over $1 billion. Hearst Health Network has acquired health IT software company CareInSync for an undisclosed sum. CareInSync will function as part of Hearst Health's clinical improvement division Zynx Health.
Naylor LLC has announced the purchase of Boxwood Technologies, which provides associations with career-related services and online career centers. Boxwood's chairman/CEO John Bell and president Christine Smith will report to Naylor president/CEO Alex DeBarr.
PennWell Corporation's Water & Wastewater International magazine has announced a partnership with the International Desalination Association. The two organizations will produce content for Desalinate, Water & Wastewater International's industry newscast.
