The FY12-13 budget draft resolution was presented to the Board of Education at their May 1, 2012 meeting and was adopted as presented. The budget resolution and the Superintendent's Budget Message have been posted on the budget updates page of our website.

The school district is required to submit this budget request to the Board of County Commissioners (BOC) by May 15 each year. The BOC will consider this request over the next several weeks and are required by NC General Statute to adopt a local budget by June 30.

Next week, three new members of the Board of Education will be elected during the 2012 primary, taking office in July 2012. Information about the school board candidates has been posted to our website on the School Board Candidates page. A video from the April 30 Davie County Association of Educators school board candidates' forum can be found there, along with the results from the William Ellis Middle School Community Council school board candidates' survey.

We also will have the opportunity to vote for candidates at the local, state, and national levels. On May 8, 2012, all eligible students, employees, and community members are encourage to vote.
