Women In Filmmaking presents

Art for Resistance

Art for Resistance is a film about a group of academics, artists and activists coming together in Honolulu to present alternatives to what APEC stands for. The group creates spaces for art demonstrations and critical conversations while the city produces the stage for the APEC forum. Through the Occupy Wall Street momentum the community unveils the power of the many.  

 

A discussion will follow with the 1LegProductions film crew moderated by Jaimey Hamilton (UH Arts Professor and ALTERNA*APEC leading organizer).

This event is a preview of new, original works written by outstanding local playwrights (Troy Apostol, Richard Goodman, Feng Feng Hutchins, Marion Lyman-Mersereau, John Meyers, Nancy P.
