Greetings!

I'm starting to get quite busy as we work through March!  You should use my new online appointment booking to schedule an appointment soon or call, email, or text for a drop-off (NOTE: my drop box is available at my town house...it is behind the bush to the right of my door).  Make sure you are aware of my latest address before dropping off, mailing items, or scheduling your appointment.  My appointments stop a week before the due date and my late drop-off premium begins at that time.

Also remember that my pricing has increased.  My new rates are available on my website Pricing page.  Don't forget that you can also file yourself online through my website or by clicking here.  Thank you!

Tax Tip
Tax TipFour Tax Credits to Boost Your Refund
Remember that a tax credit reduces your tax due amount and if a tax credit is refundable, you may be able to get it in your refund even if your taxes due are zero.

Here are four tax credits you should consider:
  • The Earned Income Tax Credit Is for people earning less than $49,078 from wages, self-employment, or farming.   Income, age, and the number of qualifying children determine the amount of your credit.  See IRS Publication 596 for more information.
  • The Child and Dependent Care Credit is for expenses paid for the care of your qualifying child under age 13, or for a disabled spouse or dependent, while you work or look for work.  See IRS Publication 503 for more information.
  • The Child Tax Credit is for people who have a qualifying child.  The maximum credit is $1,000 for each qualifying child.  You can claim this credit in addition to the Child and Dependent Care Credit.  See IRS Publication 972 for more information.
  • The Retirement Savings Contribution Credit, also known as the Saver's Credit, is designed to help low-to-moderate income workers save for retirement.  You may qualify if your income is below a certain limit and you contribute to an IRA or workplace retirement plan.  See IRS Publication 590 for more information.

These are just some of the tax credits available.  Make sure you check IRS.gov for the latest available credits.
