Alumni Opinions on Merger

NSAC alumni were surveyed on July 12 to identify the attributes of NSAC deemed to be most important in a merger scenario.  The survey was distributed to 2919 alumni with a 12 per cent response rate from primarily Canadian respondents and closed July 22.

Six emerging themes have been identified from the survey results and include identity, growth potential, cautious optimism, class size and teaching methods, autonomy and transparency.

We want to thank you for providing your thoughtful insights and perspectives. Your opinions are important to us and we are committed to keeping you informed and engaged in this process as we move forward.

You can keep up-to-date on merger discussions by visiting nsacdalmerger.ca.This website has been developed to be the main source of information on merger discussions. You will also continue to receive updates through this electronic newsletter as well as Agricola News.

Hay Bale Sculpting at NSAC's Orientation

dog

Once again NSAC's Development & External Relations office sponsored the hay bale sculpting activity for first year students during Orientation. Teamed with their residence, or off-campus group, students were tasked with creating a sculpture out of 30 bales of hay and a package of random items.

Team Chapman took home this year's prize, NSAC hoodies, for their dog sculpture. "We chose to sculpt a dog as it ties into several programs at NSAC, including the newest companion animal program," said student Zachary Straight when presenting his team's sculpture to the judges. "A dog also represents man's best friend and that's what this week (Orientation) is all about - making new friends."

A big thanks to our alumni judges for their difficult job - Stewart Yuill (Class of '06), Ashley Shepard (Class of '07) and Scott Jeffrey (Class of '96).
