BACK TO SCHOOL!
Hall of Fame Inductees Named
At the annual meeting of the Shortridge Alumni Association, the inaugural group of alumni were named for induction into the Shortridge Hall of Fame and recognized for exemplary accomplishments in their professional lives.
The group of 13 inductees for 2011 were similarly recognized by the IPS Education Foundation for its Hall of Fame program that has existed since 2006. IPSEF considers all IPS high school graduates; however, our program will honor only Shortridge alumni.

IPSEF HALL OF FAME LUNCHEON
The 2011 IPS Education Foundation Hall of Fame (HOF) luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, 2011, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the Indiana Roof Ballroom to honor this year's inductees from IPS high schools.
The goal of the IPS Education Foundation HOF luncheon recognizes the professional achievements of IPS graduates being inducted into the HOF, serves as a major fund drive for many of the scholarship options available to IPS students, and to invite students from the current IPS high schools to attend and witness first-hand the potential opportunities available for their future. IPSEF would like to have as many students attend as possible, and ask that individuals, businesses and/or community groups underwrite the cost of the luncheon tickets for one or more students.
Tickets are available at $75 each or tables of 10 - $750. Contact Dr. Joseph Smith (317.226.3706) at IPS Education Foundation for ticket information or visit the HOF website: www.ipshof.com to view the entire listing and biographies of previous HOF recipients.

New "Inside Shortridge" Studio
Before and After
Gregory Nowling, SMHS Media Specialist, reports the new studio is up and running, along with the newly configured control room. More than 100 hours of work went into building the studio this summer. The new set allows for daily news broadcasts and training for video productions now a part of the new Daily Echo and Mass Media class capabilities.
A new riser was added, custom built background walls, (green screen was removed) custom built news desk, a 51" Plasma TV added, custom lighting installed and monitors to aid in the newscast, in large part due to the generous donations from the Alumni Association and other donors to the project; e.g.: Carter-Lee Lumber, Sherwin Williams, Lowe's, Sullivan's Ace Hardware, HH Gregg, Realty Wholesale Carpet, Integrated Marketing Products and Tri North Lighting.
Some donors gave materials in full, but because of the generous donation from the Alumni Association, we were able to pull this project all together.
Thank You,for your support of the Inside Shortridge and the Mass Media class.
