LAST SUNDAY OF THE CHURCH YEAR Proper 29 (November 20 - November 26)
Collect: Lord God, heavenly Father, send forth Your Son, we pray , that He may lead home His bride, the Church, that we with all the redeemed may enter into Your eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Readings: - Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24
- 1 Corinthians 15:20-28
- Matthew 25:31-46
Meditation: By the Cross of Christ We Enter the Kingdom of Our God and Father When the crucified and risen Lord Jesus comes to judge the living and the dead, "He will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats" (Matt. 25:32). "To those on His right," who have been crucified and raised with Him through repentance and faith in His Gospel, He will grant the blessed Kingdom of His Father (Matt. 25:34). Having been justified by His grace, they live unto righteousness in Him (Matt. 25:35-40). But "those on His left," who trust in themselves and despise their neighbor, will depart "into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matt. 25:41). Until that day, the Lord searches for His sheep "as a shepherd seeks out his flock" (Ezek. 34:11-12). Through His preaching of repentance He disciplines the proud sheep and goats, "the fat and the strong," but through the preaching of forgiveness He rescues the lost, binds up the injured, strengthens the weak, and feeds "the lean sheep" (Ezek. 34:16, 20). In this way, He destroys the power of death in the children of Adam by His Cross, so that "in Christ shall all be made alive" by His Resurrection (1 Cor. 15:20-26). |

Congregational Constitutions
Congregations need to make sure that they identify themselves in their constitutions as not-for-profit organizations. A suggestion is to include the following statement immediately following the section where the congregation identifies its purpose and mission:
"XYZ Lutheran Church in Anytown, shall be carried on without purpose of gain for its members, and any profits or other gains to this congregation shall be used in promoting its objectives as described above."

"Responding to Sexual Temptation in a High Tech Society"
is the title of Mr. Ted Kober's presentation at the 6th Annual Love Life Conference at Concordia University College of Alberta on Saturday, November 19th. From ages 10 to 92, Christians struggle with sexual temptation from the Internet, cell phone, and other technology. The result? Broken marriages, hurting families, and damaged ministries and businesses. While not all are tempted, everyone in our society is impacted by its effects. Ted Kober's two-part workshop prepares you to help a loved one or yourself respond through the power of the Gospel. Learn the extent of this issue and how to experience healing through biblical peacemaking. The conference begins with registration at 8:45 a.m. and concludes at 3:20 p.m. (although there is a bonus panel discussion that will conclude at 4:00 p.m.).
The conference pre-registration fee is $25.00 (includes lunch) and $30.00 (at the door). Students are FREE!
For more information and to register and make payment online visit: www.LoveLifeEdmonton.com or http://www.lccabc.ca/news/love-life-conference/. You can also register by calling the ABC District Office at: 780-474-0063 (ext. 102). This conference is sponsored by: Lutherans for Life - Canada; Concordia Lutheran Seminary; Concordia University College of Alberta; and the ABC District.
