2012 Alberta British Columbia District Convention 
The 49th Convention of the Alberta-British Columbia District, the 9th Convention as a District of Lutheran Church-Canada,
will take place on May 18-21, 2012 at the
Radisson Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta.
The theme for the Convention, based on Daniel 12:3, will be "In Your Light...We Shine Like Stars (Confession and Mission in The 21st Century)".
The feature presenter will be the Rev. Dr. Robert Bugbee, President of Lutheran Church Canada.

CEF Sunday 2011 Resources 
Church Extension Fund Sunday is scheduled for October 23, 2011. Information has been sent out to all Congregational CEF Representatives, K.I.D.S. Coordinators and CEF Circuit Representatives.

Quest Course Begins! Tuesday (Oct 18, 25; Nov 1, 2011) - 7:00 - 9:00 pm "The Stones Cry Out: Jesus and Archaeology" Dr. Stephen Chambers
Come and explore the ways archaeology enriches our faith in Jesus. We'll approach the issue f rom two directions. Sessions 1 and 2 focus on artifacts: specific archaeological discoveries that illuminate the world of Jesus and his disciples. Sessions 3 and 4 focus on texts: particular passages in the Gospels that archaeology helps bring to life.
If you can't come to the course in person, consider taking part online. Registration fee: $40.00 per person.

New Reconciliation Ministry Pastorate Course
News from AOR
The newest ministry training for serving conflicted churches and other ministries is now open for registration!
We are pleased to announce that our new Reconciliation Ministry Pastorate Course will be offered on January 30 through February 3, 2012 Aurora, Colorado (Denver area). We have had interest from Lutherans and non-Lutherans across the US as well as folks from Canada and Australia.
Bruce Zagel will co-present this course with me (Ted Kober). He has some amazing stories to report from his experience pilot testing this ministry with a conflicted congregation in Australia. You will enjoy learning and hearing how the process works in real life applications, as well as lessons that Bruce learned from the field...read more

This plan is based on the M'Cheyne reading system, featuring four different readings for use in both family and personal devotions. Habitat for Humanity Build in Nicaragua - Volunteer Oportunity!
Dennis Mitschke, a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Summerland BC and an active leader in Habitat for several years, is organizing a Habitat build in Nicaragua for February 15 to 25, 2012. The build is being planned with a Lutheran emphasis, including worship on Sunday at a Lutheran congregation.
