2012 Alberta British Columbia District Convention 
The 49th Convention of the Alberta-British Columbia District, the 9th Convention as a District of Lutheran Church-Canada,
will take place on May 18-21, 2012 at the
Radisson Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta.
The theme for the Convention, based on Daniel 12:3, will be "In Your Light...We Shine Like Stars (Confession and Mission in The 21st Century)".
The feature presenter will be the Rev. Dr. Robert Bugbee, President of Lutheran Church Canada.

Chaplain's Conference
The Department of Outreach invites all ABC District pastors who are serving (or intending to) as a volunteer or fulltime chaplain to the Chaplain's conference on October 6 and 7, 2011 at Camp Kuriakos, Sylvan Lake, AB.
If you want to attend the conference, please fill out the registration form (found here) and email it to Lynn Giese as soon as possible at lgiese@lccabc.ca.

Lutheran Foundation Hiring Central District Coordinator
Lutheran Foundation Canada is currently accepting applications for a full time Gift Coordinator to work throughout the Central District. Previous experience in planned giving is preferred but not required. Preference will be given to an applicant living or willing to move to Regina or Winnipeg. Interested individuals should forward a cover letter and resume for consideration to the Executive Director, Allen Schellenberg.

Lutheran Foundation Seminars in the ABC District Christian Estate and Will Planning |
Quest Course Tuesday (Oct 11, 18, 25; Nov 1, 2011) - 7:00 - 9:00 pm "The Stones Cry Out: Jesus and Archaeology" Dr. Stephen Chambers
Come and explore the ways archaeology enriches our faith in Jesus. We'll approach the issue f rom two directions. Sessions 1 and 2 focus on artifacts: specific archaeological discoveries that illuminate the world of Jesus and his disciples. Sessions 3 and 4 focus on texts: particular passages in the Gospels that archaeology helps bring to life.
If you can't come to the course in person, consider taking part online. Registration fee: $40.00 per person.

Meet our Australian Brothers and Sisters
This week we invite you to meet St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School located in Henty NSW, Australia ( map it ) and their Parish Sole Pastor Rev. Adam Eime
and principal Mrs. Bev McFarland.
St. Paul's has a worshiping community of 243 members and every 3rd Sunday of the month they have a evening service with a fellowship BBQ! Information about the school can be found here.

LLL Anouncement from the Klondike Zone
You are invited to the Lutheran Hour Ministries Silent Auction and Dinner, Saturday, September 24, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Sherwood Park. It will be an enjoyable evening with familiar and new faces featuring, God-willing, Rev. Sandor Arguello, former missionary to Nicaragua, as a guest speaker, and a humorous musical Variety Show by Sapphire Sizzle. The Silent Auction opens at 5:30 pm with the Beef Barbecue Dinner served at 6:00. Tickets ($25) are available from your congregational LHM Ambassador, or from Mel Lenz (780-417-3939). FaithLife Financial will be providing a matching grant to funds raised for Lutheran Hour Ministries at this event.
