Almighty and everlasting God, always more ready to hear than we to pray and always ready to give more than we either desire or deserve, pour down on us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us the things of which our conscience is afraid and giving us the good things we are not worthy to ask but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

2012 Alberta British Columbia District Convention 
The 49th Convention of the Alberta-British Columbia District, the 9th Convention as a District of Lutheran Church-Canada,
will take place on May 18-21, 2012 at the
Radisson Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta.
The theme for the Convention, based on Daniel 12:3, will be "In Your Light...We Shine Like Stars (Confession and Mission in The 21st Century)".
The feature presenter will be the Rev. Dr. Robert Bugbee, President of Lutheran Church Canada.

 Chaplain's Conference - Speaker Cancellation
The Department of Outreach invites all ABC District pastors who are serving (or intending to) as a volunteer or fulltime chaplain to the Chaplain's conference on October 6 and 7, 2011 at Camp Kuriakos, Sylvan Lake, AB.
*** The scheduled guest presenter, Steve Unger has had to cancel for personal health reasons. further details regarding the speaker will be announced in September. ***

Help Teach Children about Savings & Stewardship
Church Extension Fund (CEF) is looking for people to serve as K.I.D.S. Coordinators. CEF's K.I.D.S. stamp program helps ABC District congregations, schools and other ministry entities teach children the importance of savings and basic stewardship principals. 
If your congregation doesn't have a K.I.D.S. Savings Stamp Program and you would like more information on starting a K.I.D.S. program at your church, please contact the District Office 1.888.474.663 (Edmonton local 780.474.663) or email kids@lccabc.ca. Lutheran Foundation Hiring Central District Coordinator
Lutheran Foundation Canada is currently accepting applications for a full time Gift Coordinator to work throughout the Central District. Previous experience in planned giving is preferred but not required. Preference will be given to an applicant living or willing to move to Regina or Winnipeg. Interested individuals should forward a cover letter and resume for consideration to the Executive Director, Allen Schellenberg.

Meet our Australian Brothers and Sisters
This week we invite you to meet St. John Lutheran Church located in Gilgandra NSW, Australia ( map it ) who is currently vacant.
St. John is a dual Parish with St. Mark's Lutheran Church which is located in Dubbo, NSW. They are a fairly small congregation with approximately 25 members and offer a Sunday morning worship service at 11:15 am. Please keep the congregation of St. John in your prayers this week. |

Synod has noticed an increase of traffic to their congregational listings since the ELCIC decisions last month. Just a reminder of the need to keep your website current as potential visitors are checking you out online before arriving at your front door! If you don't have a website but are interested in getting some online presence you can check out sites like wordpress or weebly for free webpages. For more information on setting up an online presence contact Jon Teschke, here at the office. |

LLL Anouncement from the Klondike Zone
You are invited to the Lutheran Hour Ministries Silent Auction and Dinner, Saturday, September 24, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Sherwood Park. It will be an enjoyable evening with familiar and new faces featuring, God-willing, Rev. Sandor Arguello, former missionary to Nicaragua, as a guest speaker, and a humorous musical Variety Show by Sapphire Sizzle. The Silent Auction opens at 5:30 pm with the Beef Barbecue Dinner served at 6:00. Tickets ($25) are available from your congregational LHM Ambassador, or from Mel Lenz (780-417-3939). FaithLife Financial will be providing a matching grant to funds raised for Lutheran Hour Ministries at this event.

Is Anyone Using the Evangelism training course XEE in their congregation???
The Lutheran School and Congregation: A Mission Outpost! Dr. Schaeffer is discussing this topic on "Go!" as he explores the Lutheran school teacher as missionary to her students; the Christian student as missionary; and the Lutheran school as a "missionary" to the community. By extension, what is said of the Lutheran school is applicable to a Lutheran congregation. The pastor is a missionary to the community; Christ's followers are missionaries to their families, friends, coworkers, etc.; and the congregation is a "missionary" to the community.
All are encouraged to visit "Go!" a blog dedicated to encouraging God's people to participate in Christ's mission of seeking and saving the lost. When you visit "Go!" you will hear and see stories of God's people as they "Go!" You will be directed to websites and other resources that will help you "Go!" Quotes from books, sermons, and academic papers will provide you with biblical and missiological foundations as you "Go!"
