Mission Prayer ( August 21 )
http://www.lutheranchurch.ca/missions.php
Holy God, You gave the keys of the kingdom to Your Church to unloose the chains which bind people in sin. We confess our neglect in making use of this great gift. Inspire our pastors and district leaders to boldly confess Jesus Christ within our congregations so that all Your people throughout the districts of Lutheran Church-Canada may in turn boldly confess You to our neighbours and friends, through Christ our Lord.

Meet our Australian Brothers and Sisters
This week we invite you to meet St. Mark's Lutheran Lutheran Church located in Epping, NSW, Australia. ( map it ) and their Lead Pastor Rev. Mark Schultz
(You may recall mention of this church in last week's connect as they share the church with Chinese Lutheran)
Their website is currently under construction but their mission statement taken from their LCA profile page is "Living Jesus' love ~ Sharing his hope with all ~ Growing in grace together". Compared to the recent churches we have seen this is a larger congregation with 237 members, an Associate Pastor and Director of Discipleship & Family Ministry.
Please keep St. Mark's and Reverends Schultz and Simpfendorfer and Mrs. Brownett in your prayers this week.

Is your Church online, if so, is it current?
Synod has noticed an increase of traffic to their congregational listings since the ELCIC decisions last month. Just a reminder of the need to keep your website current as potential visitors are checking you out online before arriving at your front door! If you don't have a website but are interested in getting some online presence you can check out sites like wordpress or weebly for free webpages. For more information on setting up an online presence contact Jon Teschke, here at the office. |

These are the words of Kelti Malone, missionary to NE Edmonton and Christian musician.
