Canada Post Strike Impacts Charities

The Canada Post strike is having a major impact on charities that depend on the mail delivery for many of its business transactions.  The ABC District Office and Church Extension Fund / ABC District Investments Ltd are not exempt, but think this is a great time for a stewardship lesson!   We encourage each of our congregations to complete an electronic funds transfer (EFT) agreement with our office to avoid delays in receiving interest payments from CEF accounts, remitting mission commitments and other donations to LCC entities and ensuring that loan payments are received on time. Not only will this ensure that your finances are kept in good order, but it's good stewardship too.  Electronic funds transfers are more cost effective than producing and mailing a cheque (no paper, no envelope, no stamp and no trip to the bank at your end).   District EFT forms are available for download here (under EFT) CEF forms can be found here.

Completed forms can be faxed with a void cheque to 780-477-9829.

If you require additional information please do not hesitate to call us toll free 1-888-474-0063 (Edmonton local 780-474-0063).

Church Secretary:

Canada Post strike impacts CEF and ABC District Investments Ltd investors

If you currently receive interest on your CEF account or RRIF payments by cheque, we would like to ensure that you continue to receive your funds on time during the Canada Post strike.  CEF has the ability to create electronic funds transfers (EFT) so that there is no disruption in your payment and it is good stewardship too! (NO paper, NO envelope, NO stamp and NO trip to the bank for you)  The funds are deposited directly into your bank account.

Please visit our forms section on the CEF website at cef.lccabc.ca and download the EFT form or contact our office.  During the strike, it's business as usual for CEF - if you need to make a deposit or withdrawal from a CEF or ABC District Investments Ltd account we can arrange for this to be done by EFT as well.
