Almighty God, because You know that we are set among so many and great dangers that by reason of the weakness of our fallen nature we cannot always stand upright, grant us Your strength and protection to support us in all dangers and carry us through all temptations; through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Rev. Greg Seltz Named the New Speaker of
 'The Lutheran Hour'

St. Louis, MO, Jan. 21, 2011 -

Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) is pleased to announce that the Rev. Gregory P. Seltz of Orange, California, has accepted the position of Speaker of

The Lutheran Hour® radio program. Seltz succeeds to the microphone following the Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus, who retired from full-time duties at the end of the 2010 calendar year after serving in the Speakership since 2002. Seltz will officially begin his ministry with LHM on a part-time basis Feb. 1 and will become full time on or before June 1...

Reminders
  • 2011 Synodical Convention Assessment payment is due by March 31
  • 2011 Mission Commitment Form is due by January 31
  • 2011 Officer Roster Form is due by January 31
     
Marriage Licenses

Note for Retired Clergy:

  • If you retire in AB - your license is no longer valid.
  • If you retire in BC - your license remains valid, unless you chose otherwise.

If you no longer have a license or are wanting to preform a wedding out of province you can apply for a temporary Marriage License through the District President.

Loan Financial Statements & Reports Past Due
 

Reminder to All Congregations with CEF / ABC District Investments Ltd. Loans:  Your financial statement as of December 31, 2010, 2011 budget, detailed 2011 stewardship plan and ministry plan for 2011 were due on January 21, 2010. 
 

These are a condition of the loan agreement that you have with either CEF / ABC District Investments Ltd.   For additional information on what is required to submit, please refer to the letter sent to your congregation on November 17, 2010. 

 

Please ensure that this information is submitted by mail or email to Janice Ruf (jruf@lccabc.ca) as soon as possible.  


Placement Application Deadlines
  • Application deadline for the placement of Vicars, DPS Interns, Pastoral candidates, and DPS candidates is March 15.
  • Application deadline for the placement of teacher candidates is April 1.

Regional Outreach Workshops

 
One day Outreach workshops are going to be taking place all around the District!

 
First workshop will be taking place on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Canadian Lutheran Stories Wanted
