- 2nd Saturdays: Capturing a Likeness Saturday, June 11, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.North Carolina History Center Explore the art and history of capturing one's likeness at Tryon Palace's first of three 2nd Saturday programs. The day's events will include special tours, local artist displays, and kids' craft activities. 2nd Saturdays 2011, sponsored by the NC Department of Cultural Resources, combine arts, heritage and fun on June 11, July 9, and August 13.Gardens, craft activities and artist displays are free; discounted admission on galleries and historic buildings.
- History Summer Day Camp: Colonial Life Monday, June 20 - Friday, June 24, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.Tryon Palace step back into the past and experience life before iPods and the Internet. At the Colonial Life Day Camp, campers will explore how colonists lived in Colonial North Carolina. They'll participate in numerous hands-on activities that will give them a taste of colonial life, including: tours, cooking, dress-up, games, crafts, and much, much more! Ages: Grades 3 - 5
