The Last Word on the Form I-9

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published its final rule on Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, for employees effective May 16, 2011.  The final rule adopts the interim rule that has been in effect since April 3, 2009, and made several changes to improve the integrity of the employment verification process.

Beware of the Final ADAAA RegulationsADAAA Regulations Workers' Compensation

 The U.S. Equal Employment

 Opportunity Commission (EEOC) 

 has issued its final rule interpreting 

 the Americans with Disabilities Act

 Amendments Act (ADAAA). 

 

 "Under the new law, the focus is on how the person was treated rather than on what an employer believes about the nature of the person's impairment," the EEOC said in a statement issued March 24, 2011, to announce the regulations. Here are the main takeaways. Read more.
