T.D.S.

Total dissolved solids.  High levels of  T.D.S. which build up in pools due to evaporation will interfere with chlorination. 

 Turbidity

This is cloudiness caused by fine visible and/or colloidal material in suspension.

Muriatic Acid

This is hydrochloric acid in liquid form used for lowering total alkalinity of pH.
