NBCHNBCH Publishes Action Brief on V-BID with the Center


V-BID Center and the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) released an action brief aimed to inform employers about V-BID. This action brief outlines V-BID concepts, strategies, and impact as well as how health plans support V-BID based on data from eValue8TM -a resource used by purchasers to assess health plan performance.   
GrantV-BID  Receives RWJF Grant to Evaluate CT State Plan  
 

V-BID Center has been awarded funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's State Health Access Reform Evaluation (SHARE) program to evaluation the clinical and economic implications of an innovative value-based health state-wide plan for Connecticut State employees.  

 MedPACJune 2012 MedPAC Report Again Supports V-BID Expansion
 The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission's (MedPAC) June 2012 Report to Congress references the potential benefit of implementing V-BID concepts to encourage the use of high-value services for improved health outcomes.
ConsumerWhite Papers Examine Consumer Payment for Health Care

Three cutting-edge studies address consumer roles in health care costs:
"Sharing in the Cost of Care" from the Center for Healthcare Decisions
(CHCD) "Probing the Public's View on V-BID" a collaboration between V-BID Center and CHCD and
"Communicating Value-Based Benefits: Employee Research Project Results" from V-BID Center, the Midwest Group on Health (MBGH) and Buck Consultants. 
 

 CDCCDC & CMS Publish Data on Value-Based Preventive Services
 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new data indicating that nearly 50% of Americans did not receive key value-based preventive service prior to 2010.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published data showing that 14.3 million Medicare recipients used at least one value-based preventive service during the first 5 months of 2012.
