Greetings!,
The holidays are wrapping up and it's almost time to un-decorate your house. None of us look forward to this task. Do you tend to pack it up quickly and shove it into a box just to get it over with? This will come back to haunt you next year when it's time to pull out your Christmas and Hannakau decorations. I have 3 un-decorating tips that will help you efficiently store your decorations so you save time and frustration next season.
1. Lights: When you unpacked your lights this year, were they a tangled nightmare? This year, take a minute to coil them and you will be pleasantly surprised next season. Keep them tangle free by putting each set in it's own 1 gallon plastic zip bag, wrapping each set of lights around your elbow and securing with a couple twist ties or wrapping them around an empty cardboard tube. 2. Wreaths and Wall Hangings: Large, odd shaped items can be tricky to store. Think outside of the box for storing. Hang them on your basement or garage walls, slide them under a bed or hang them on the back of a seldom used door. They are less likely to get crushed. Cover with a trash bag to keep them dust free. 3. Categorize Decorations: It's a huge time saver. If you put up a tree, store all the tree lights and extension cords in one box and the tree decorations in another box if needed. Label the box and you will find it all in a jiffy next season. Do you go all out and decorate just about every room? Box up the decorations according to room or group a couple rooms together. Label the box and add a photo of the decorated room to the box. Happy New Year! Simply,
