Using HT to help ADHD
by Denise Padovani, Level 3 student from Milford, NJ
My eight year old son, Nicholas, has Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder which makes it difficult for him to concentrate and maintain focus. Last April, his teacher was concerned that he was falling behind the other children in his class, so I began adding Healing Touch Mind Clearing to his morning routine. I told him I needed to practice what I had learned and asked if he would help me. This made him feel important and created a special bond between us. After Nicholas got up and dressed, I would do 5 minutes of Mind Clearing. Then he had breakfast, brushed his teeth and left for school. In addition to daily Mind Clearing, once a week on either Saturday or Sunday, I did Magnetic Passes to clear his energy field. It only took a few minutes.
Just before school ended in June, I received a phone call from Nicholas' teacher. Nicholas was now focused and staying on task. She was amazed at his transformation and wanted to know what I was doing with him. She said that after Memorial Day, as the weather gets nice, all the kids (even the smart ones) lose interest in school. But not Nicholas. He was eager and ready to learn. His attention was better than ever! |
HT Brings Relief for Asthma
by Tami Lane, Level 3 student and school nurse from Basking Ridge
A 2nd grade student who had been late to school came to my office with her mother who had just given her daughter a nebulizer treatment for asthma. The student appeared pale and was experiencing tightness in her chest. I listened to her lungs and found that she had bilateral rhonci (a course rattling sound). I did not want to send her back to class.
Since this student was already receiving acupuncture treatments, I asked the mother if she might be amenable to my doing Healing Touch, another form of energy work. The mother consented and I began to gently do Magnetic Passes and Energetic Ultrasound on both the front and back of her chest. As I continued alternating the two techniques, the student related that she felt fine. To confirm what she was feeling, I once again listened to her chest. Her breathing sounds were totally clear. I would have thought that this was a random event except that the same thing happened the following day!! I continue to be amazed at what HT can do. |
Student Questions
Q. Is there a list of of what techniques to use with specific conditions or diseases?
A. Rather than publishing a list with protocols, it is recommended that you follow the basic intention of the technique whether it be relaxing, replenishing lost energy or relieving pain. The rule of thumb is to address the presenting symptoms because they often vary from day to day and from individual to individual. Even if two people have been diagnosed with the same illness, their energy will be different depending on their emotional, mental and spiritual states. Treat each situation as unique. Listen carefully to what the person tells you and then assess the energy field. Choose techniques that address what they say is the concern. Keep assessing the energy as you work and notice any changes. What you plan to do in the beginning may change as you work. Be sure to ask for feedback when you finish.
Summary
At each level, Healing Touch students learn a variety of techniques. How they are mixed and matched and applied is an art to be developed with practice over time. Every situation, every session will be different...beautifully, wonderfully different. Western medicine follows strict protocols. In HT we treat the whole individual adapting the techniques to each unique situation. That is the Art of Healing Touch.
