Family Matters
Recently Catherine felt that the time had come to apply for a part time job at a new retail store that just opened. She was so excited about the prospects of going forward in the whole process of stabilization of and adaptation to her

epilepsy. We were excited for her when she was hired, especially since it was with her employer's full knowledge and understanding of the medical situation. However, less than a week after she began training, she had a violent seizure which caused her to hit her head and forced us to call an ambulance. Fortunately, there was no concussion but only a neck sprain. Still, God made it clear to her that a regular job would have to wait. Though this could be viewed as a difficult setback, Catherine has seen it as from the Lord. Indeed, God continues to receive glory through her situation for which we praise Him. Thank you for your continued prayer.
In May, we had the privilege of hosting a group of students from Calvary Christian School in Greer, SC. They were all students in the French class taught by our daughter, Valerie Sandquist. They were also accompanied by the pastor and his family. It was a special time and a team like no other, since Valerie brought two of our grandchildren
along for the trip.
| Jonathan and Heather |
We will be adding another family member on the 18th of June in Pennsylvania, when our son Jonathan will wed Heather Schafer. And on another note, we have recently learned that our daughter Stephanie and husband Jeremie are already expecting their first child. That's right, come
January, Melanie and I will have a fourth grandchild!

Ministry Notes
In May, the church added Benoit Guillot as deacon. This was an important step towards our vision for a ministry team. Those in ministry here are truly on the front lines as we are in a place of great spiritual battles, especially as of late. It is important that those soldiers on the front lines remain fit, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Please pray for us in this regard. Pray especially for Benoit and his wife Amy as they are expecting their first in August, and particularly for Benoit's preaching ministry. He is a true expositor of the Word, a precious gift to our believers here.
The French edition of Jim Berg's book, "Changed into His Image" has just been sent back to Melanie for a final revision before going to print. Pray for her that she might get this step done as quickly as possible. We so look forward to having this very important tool available to us for counseling purposes.
