Dear Friends,

We are glad to share recent prayer news from Qubec City.
Wedding Bells for Stephanie
Stephanie and Jeremie We have the joy to announce that Stephanie is engaged to be married to Jrmie Savard on December 18th. Jrmie is originally from our area and is a recent graduate of Northland Baptist Bible College.  We have known his family for over twenty years.  Jrmie began studies at Universit Laval here in Qubec City this week and Stephanie is finishing up a few correspondence classes towards her counseling degree from BJU.  In the short term, she also plans to continue studies at Universit Laval.  It is their desire to be a part of the ministry team in the work here. This of course, is very exciting and encouraging for us! Do pray that God will direct in all that goes with planning a Christian wedding here in Qubec and that His name will be glorified through it all.
Catherine WebsterUpdate on Catherine
Catherine's health situation still has not stabilized enough for her to resume studies at BJU.  In fact, things recently took a turn for the worse when she had seizures almost every day for a week.  This forced her to give up the job as a sales clerk but the door has opened as part-time babysitter for the Clancy's, a missionary family with IFM that has just arrived to begin their one-year of language study here.  Since they are living in our church "apartment", Catherine is close by when babysitting.  After that really bad week, she was tested again at the Montreal Neurological Institute.  We are thankful to Pastor and Mrs. Robert Lortie for providing a place for Melanie and the girls to stay during those few days. Please continue to pray for Catherine as she works through all of this.  This month she will officially lose her driver's license.  She is currently doing very well but is looking forward to some resolution of the situation.  You may send her a note of encouragement at [email protected].
Update on Renovations
New Platform August 25 2010 The renovations of our main auditorium have been progressing very well. Do pray for the official reopening that will take place on Sunday, September 5th. We are planning special services with guest speaker Pierre Plante who is a veteran Qubec pastor and a dear friend. There will also be a special meal. We expect visitors, including some of the guys who installed the carpet! Do pray for us as we finish up last minute details. Pray especially that God will be glorified through the clear preaching of the Gospel.
We are ever thankful for your prayer support!

In Christ,
