Appointments and Tests
On Monday, we
drove Catherine to Montréal for her appointment with Dr. Frederick Andermann of
the Montréal Neurological Institute and Hospital. This was a very encouraging consultation, and
resulted in an appointment on Tuesday with Dr. Eva Andermann, a neurologist who
specializes in the genetic aspects of epilepsy.
What then followed were a number of tests, including DNA and EEGs for
both Catherine and Melanie. Most of you
know that Melanie has lived with epileptic type seizures since childhood and
our daughter Valerie has also had a similar problem. This clear familial link has opened the door
for a further diagnosis of Melanie's case and should help both with Catherine
and Valerie as well. Yesterday, they
decided to admit Catherine into the hospital in order to undergo a battery of
more tests into next week. One thing
they now want is for her to actually have a seizure in a controlled environment
in order to analyze the data.

God's
Provision
It
has now been well over two weeks since Melanie and Stephanie drove down to
Greenville, SC to get Catherine at BJU. After
their arrival back home here in Québec City late on Saturday night, Melanie and
Catherine only had two nights at home before we had to drive to Montreal on
Monday morning. This has all come at a
time that has also been particularly stressful for us in the ministry here. Yet God has supplied all of our needs. The expenses for the trip to South Carolina
were entirely covered by several gifts including a special love offering from
our sending church, Concord Bible Church.
Both lodging and transportation for Melanie and Catherine's extended
stay in Montréal have been provided through our dear friends, the Godins. Pierre Godin is a former member of the church
in Sept-Îles. Next week is Spring Break on Québec college
campuses, so Melanie will not have to miss her class again at Laval University. Also, several of the ministry related
situations have "unblocked" (as we say in French). God answers prayer and He provides for His
own!
