Call to all SilverWorks students. This year's show entitled "The Fifth Element: Stories in Wearable Art", calls for work that speaks to Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, & Essemce. For more info on the theme check out the Five Elements in Japanese Philosophy. Any jewelry constructed in the last year that fits the theme may be submitted. Your piece can be representational of one of the first four elements, or it can be thematic and tell a story which would fall under the fifth element, Essence. Drop off your work to SilverWorks between June 15th-18.

Wearable but provocative, both sculpture and jewelry, the titles include, "Tsunami", depicting the Japan disaster, and "Women of Faith", a Muslim/Christian collaborative piece. Showcasing multiple smithing techniques, other works incorporate precious gems, and more unconventional components like concrete and cast insects. In the Popcorn Gallery.

How to read the New Calendar
The new reservation calendar is a little different. If you are confused about how to tell when there is availability, hopefully this will help. The numbers show how many spaces are available (not how many are taken). FULL means there are no spaces during that time slot. CLOSED, CLASS, or EVENT means that the studio is either closed or unavailable for Open Studio during that time slot. Always check for availability before reserving your time because the calendar does not have a rejection feature. It also does not have a cancellation feature, so if you need to cancel, just send me an email.
