VISIT FROM GIRL SCOUT TROUP |
Girl Scout Troop #982 GSHCC Sierra paid Rocklin Pediatric Dentistry a visit in October. The young ladies are 5th graders and learned about proper dental hygiene. They were completing their highway to health badge. A demonstration was performed to emphasis the sugar content in popular drinks. A 20-ounce soda contains about 1/3 cup of sugar. They also learned the C-shaped flossing method.
Please call us if you have a group that would like to visit us or if you would like us to visit you! GIRL SCOUT TROUP 982 C-SHAPED FLOSSING DEMONSTRATION WITH DR. LORA |

HALLOWEEN CANDY BUY BACK |
|

Halloween candy buy back was a huge success! We collected 97 pounds of candy the first day. A special thanks to Ellena who brought in 18 pounds of candy she collected while Trick or Treating at Disneyland and to Jake who donated 20 pounds of candy, even some full sized candy bars. All candy was donated to the US troops overseas.

TOOTHBRUSHING BY A 2 YEAR OLD !! |
Barrett demonstrating how a 2 year old can use the new Sonicare for Kids toothbrush. This is a great toothbrush that removes significantly more plaque than a manual toothbrush, has an ergonomic handle that easily fits in a child's hand, helps train kids to brush for 2 minutes with a musical timer, and has 2 gentle power levels. They are available for purchase in our office (we have a $ 10 mail in rebate coupon) or look for them at Target or Walmart.

HINTS FOR KEEPING YOUR CHILD'S MOUTH HEALTHY |
First Dental Visit by Age 1 - A child should visit the dentist by their first birthday. By starting at this early age, the dentist will be able to identify any developing problems and discuss how to care for your baby's teeth. Children should continue to visit the dentist at least twice a year.
Clean Teeth Twice a Day - Using a toothbrush or fingerbrush with a small amount of toothpaste twice daily will help to prevent tooth decay and keep the gums healthy. Assist school aged children with their brushing and flossing.
No Bottles to Bed - Any liquid besides water has the potential to cause tooth decay. Children should go to bed with clean teeth and not be given a bottle to drink while falling asleep. |
