KidsFest in Rocklin

Rocklin Pediatric Dentistry spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Whitney Ranch Park at the Kaiser Permanente KidsFest on May 16th. We met 500 new families, answered their questions about nutrition and oral health, and every child had an opportunity to spin the wheel and get a prize.  It was a lot of fun meeting new friends and seeing some old familiar faces.

The Tooth Fairy

Children all over the world do different things when they lose a baby tooth.

In Mexico, when children go to sleep they leave their tooth in a box on the bedside table.  They hope that El Raton, the magic mouse, will take the tooth and bring some money.  He leaves more money for a front tooth.

In Sweden, children put their tooth in a glass of water.  In the morning the tooth will be gone and a coin will be in the glass.

In Botswana, children throw the tooth on the roof and say "Mr. Moon, Mr. Moon, please bring me a new tooth."

Teeth fall out every day, all over the world. What do you do with yours?  Write and tell us about the visits the Tooth Fairy has made to your home.
 Happy Fathers Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's of our patients at Rocklin Pediatric Dentistry!

TEEN CORNER
Did you know ?

There are 54 grams
(13 teaspoons) of sugar in a 16 oz. Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino?

There are 46 grams
( 11 teaspoons) of sugar in a 12 oz. can of Mountain Dew soda?

There are 31 grams
(8 teaspoons) of sugar in a 16 oz. Original Rockstar energy drink?

USDA advises people who eat a 2,000 calorie diet to try to limit themselves to 10 tsp or 40 grams.

When you are thirsty during these hot summer months, drink as much water as you can.  Drinks that have a high sugar content are harmful to your teeth and are empty calories with little nutritional value.
