At each of our forums, one or two teachers share activities or tips for the classroom with forum members. If you have a special task, project, or other tip you think would benefit your fellow teachers, please let us know. If you can't share in person, please present by Skype like Liam O'Neill did at our December forum.
We'd love to have you share with us!

Greetings!

We have some great news to share with you:

For the first time, China Institute, in partnership with Project DCLT and the NYS ALBETAC, will stream our Pedagogy Workshop: "Language Immersion: Sharing Teaching Skills and Classroom Experiences", live by webcast.  The seminar will be live online at 5:00pm (EST), on Friday, February 5th, 2010.

This workshop will focus on how to teach a foreign language class using the target language to maximize student learning. Victoria Gilbert, a highly experienced Spanish teacher and current Chair of Foreign & Classical Languages at the Saint David's School, will present a 20-minute demo Spanish immersion class, during which workshop participants will be able to role play as students. The demo will be followed by a panel discussion of teachers sharing experiences on teaching and using the target language in a foreign language classroom.

The workshop will be presented in English and Chinese, with demo in Spanish.

Please go to www.china360online.org for more information.

Of course, we would far prefer to have you attend our Friday Night Forums Professional Development series in person, but if you are unable to attend we hope this is the next best thing.

Project DCLT's March and April Friday Night Forums will also be available by webcast, with professional development credits available. Following that, we hope to invite a number of Chinese language teachers who have participated in these forums through the webcast to join us in New York City for our May Friday night forum and a special day-long seminar on cultural resources. More details will be forthcoming shortly; please contact us if you are interested.
