Project DCLT Friday Forum:  November 20, 2009
Forum Picture"What We Can Learn from the IB Classroom"
Cassandra Dragon and 2009 NYU graduate Zhang Yun of EF International Academy, a new International Baccalaureate School in Tarrytown, NY, will discuss their new school and the Chinese IB program.  The forum will be held at NYU's Pless Hall from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Professional development credits will be available for in-service Chinese language teachers.   Please register now!

Confucius Institute "Teach China" Workshop:  November 11, 2009
Confucius Institute Scroll Confucius: A Multi-disciplinary Approach
Dr. Renqiu Yu, Professor of History, SUNY Purchase, will speak on fundamental concepts of Confucianism, Ren (Humanity), Xiao (Filial piety), and Zhong (Loyalty). Following the lecture, a panel of Chinese language teachers and subject-area teachers will share their experiences in teaching Chinese language and culture through a multi-disciplinary approach. Resources on Standardized Assessments
Election Day PDThe NYS ALBETAC in cooperation with Project DCLT held a full-day workshop on Standardized Assessments on Election Day.  More than 50 Chinese teachers joined the discussion about the A.P. Exam and New York State standardized assessments. Video and presentations from the event, together with additional resources on assessment, can be found on Project DCLT's website.
 
Project DCLT is collecting Classroom Management tips, games and projects for teaching Chinese, and any other materials you would like to share (we will put these on our website). Please send to us at dclt.nyu@gmail.com.
