The Future of the Senior Games in California
Last summer, over 1300 California Senior Athletes competed in the 2009 National Senior Games - the most participants ever from the State of California. Many more athletes were not able to compete, because they were unable to qualify at a State Championship.  The Board of the California Senior Games is making every effort to communicate with senior athletes to encourage them to take part in the 8 regional Senior Games taking place during 2010 in California. Sites include San Diego, Anaheim, Vacaville, Palm Desert, San Francisco Bay Area, Manteca and the first ever Winter Games at Dodge Ridge at Pine Crest. The State Championships, a qualifier for the 2011 National Senior Games in Houston, will be in Pasadena June 5 - 27. A complete list for all California Senior Games is available at www.californiaseniorgames.org.

GOLF IS NOW PART OF THE 2010 BAY AREA GAMES!
As we were planning the sports for the 2010 Games, Ray Purpur, Deputy Athletic Director at Stanford University, invited us to use the legendary Stanford Golf Course for a special tournament. We are delighted - the field is limited to 100 golfers, flyers are available at www.bayareaseniorgames.org. We expect the golf tournament, Tuesday, April 13, 2010 to sell out quickly so please spread the word.
Dear Senior Athlete - you are receiving this email announcement because you indicated that
you are interested in the Bay Area Senior Games.  We hope you will join us at our Fourth Bay Area Senior Games - after the great times we all had last summer, we want to continue the traditions begun at Stanford. ... we look forward to seeing you in April, please send your comments and suggestions to me at info@bayareaseniorgames.org.  If you want to get involved in the planning process for your sport, we would love to have you join us. Just as our slogan for 2009 was "Long Live the Challenge", we think that the 2010 slogan should be "The Challenge Continues" or "Embrace the Challenge".  What do you think?  Let me know by email at info@bayareaseniorgames.org

Please help us spread the word and tell your friends about the 2010 Bay Area Senior Games.

Our best wishes for a happy, healthy and peaceful holiday season.

Sincerely,

Anne
