New and Next from NLP Canada Training

NLPCT Logo

Greetings!

Isn't it funny that the new year starts in winter?  I wonder who decided that the coldest month in the year was a good time for new beginnings.

Maybe it was a storyteller. In the northern hemisphere, winter is the time to gather indoors and imagine a wider, brighter world. It's a time to remember adventures, acknowledge good memories, and share dreams. Who are the people in your life you would take to a cottage, with no entertainment but the flickering of the fire and the sounds of your voices?

A winter retreat for planning and dreaming and storytelling with my advisory team would be a match for any tropical cruise or European tour.  They are bright, funny, experienced, pragmatic and caring. They know good stories and they are willing to share. What could be better?

While you can't gather with my wonderful team around a cottage fireplace, you can meet them in the brief bios and youtube videos below and know that we are cooking up great developments for NLP Canada Training in 2012.

I hope you'll come be part of the fun,

Linda

Sunday, January 15, Building Your Lighthouse with NLP
This one day course is a great companion to Prepare to Succeed. If you're new to NLP, you'll learn useful techniques for building relationships and reputation. Thursday, January 19, SHIFT: Practice for Practitioners, 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Escape the cold with an evening to explore Dock of the Bay, everyone's favourite edit. Linger near a lovely lake or a beautiful beach while we walk through different variations and perspectives. You'll shift some choice points (yours and other peoples) and feel like you've had a mini-vacation. $20 for NLP Practitioners (pay at the door) - but free for the guests you bring with you. Register by phoning 416-928-2394.

Tuesday, February 7, Quick Connections, 7:30pm to 9:30pm
What have you heard about how NLP could allow you to make quick, useful connections with the people you meet? This evening will introduce NLP rapport techniques. You'll learn how to feel more comfortable when you meet new people and how to make them comfortable with you. You'll also learn how quick rapport is just the beginning of richer, more useful interactions with everyone you meet.
By donation to The Children's Aid Foundation. Register by phoning 416-928-2394.

NLP Practitioner Certification
Sat/Sun Feb 11/12 and Feb 18/19 and Mar 3/4
or Fri/Sat/Sun Mar 16/17/18 and Mar 23/24/25
This six day course will change how you understand connections, behaviour, and decision making. You will clear out issues that have bothered you for years; change bad habits; make better judgments about what you want; become more accurate in reading and connecting with others; and learn to use language more effectively. It sounds like a lot to cover in just six days. NLP works so effectively with your natural learning processes that you will be surprised at how much you learn and how quickly it makes a positive difference in your relationships and achievements.

Introducing NLP Canada Training's Advisory Board

I've been giving you sneak peaks for several months now.  Here's a brief introduction to members of the Board, complete with links to their websites, their Linked In profiles, and video on Youtube.  They are listed in alphabetical order, and clicking on their names will take you to the video.

Andrew Freund
Andrew's career spans the extremes of right and left brain thinking. On the one hand, he spent twenty years as a theatre professional, directing with some of the top companies in the country. On the other, he is an expert in recruiting technical and engineering professionals for placement in Canada's oil and mining industries (with Cronos Consulting). When Andrew brings left and right brain together, he is exceptionally good at helping others identify what they need to find their best ideas and make the right moves at the right time. He is currently training one day and NLP practitioner courses.

Kathleen Milligan
Kathleen is one of the people to whom I turn to tweak my own relationship with unconscious process. To say that she is an accomplished practitioner of hypnosis, EFT, energy medicine and NLP is not enough. Kathleen has done so much more than collect techniques.  Her practice is her own: a combination and evolution of different techniques that make her exceptionally skilled at leading clients past the noise and deep into their own resourcefulness.  Well known for her work with childbirth and infertility clients, she is also marvellous with clients that range from preschoolers to high-performing professionals.
Kathleen's company, Action Hypnosis

Michael Murray
Mike (of MAD Security, the Hacker Academy and Michael Murray and Associates) is wonderfully curious about how human beings behave.  Whether he is teaching people to identify vulnerabilities in complex IT systems, building a business or managing a team, Mike applies the least amount of pressure on the best leverage points to get results. He is an industry leader who is sharp, funny, and a terrific observer who turns insights into effective action. In his spare time, he teaches NLP Masters and trainers to think more precisely and competes in Ironman and triathlon competitions.

Michel Neray
Michel is "really, really, really, really great at helping companies and individuals communicate their greatest value."  His career spans different models of communication, from advertising to coaching, and he moves through them with equal measures of enthusiasm and effectiveness.  His company is The Essential Message. Watch the video and find out more about how he motivates, challenges, energizes and focuses his clients. Michel is the newest member of the Board and the most recently certified in NLP.  We are really, really, really glad he's on the team!

Lorraine Thornhill
Lorraine is a recently certified Master Practitioner of NLP with a lifetime of experience in finding the frame that opens up opportunity and possibility. As you will hear in her video, Lorraine chooses to live as if each day were a miracle and to inspire and encourage her clients so that they can live that way too. She brings a relentlessly positive outlook to every situation, and looks for practical ways to make a positive difference. Lorraine leads workshops and coaches individuals through life and healing issues. She will be assisting in training NLP practitioner courses in addition to her work on the advisory board.

Ron Vereggen
Ron began his exploration of NLP in the same class where I did my own practitioner certification. We've been friends and fellow adventurers ever since. Ron has participated in all the versions of the NLP Canada Training practitioner and master practitioner certifications, all while developing his own coaching model at Rapid Success Coaching. He combines his passion for self-development with a very successful career as an IT project manager.  He's assisted at all levels of training at NLP Canada Training and is currently introducing his own "Lighthouse" model in a one day course and training the NLP Practitioner certification.

Mike Verhey
Mike is quite possibly the most amazing and accomplished person I know who doesn't have a website of his own.  Following a career leading small and mid-sized businesses, he has leveraged his experience in a consultancy and coaching practice. He is an avid student of many models of change and influence, and applies what he learns practically to get results from diverse individuals and groups. He enjoys the challenges of overcoming conflict or resistance to allow clients to make real progress towards tangible change. He likes getting results; he likes to laugh; and he likes to learn. In December, he co-led a one day course in Natural Learning Patterns as his first experience in training NLP. Next, he will lead practitioners into the dark (see the event notice below).

NLP Practitioners: Mark Your Calendar for February 16
In February, our SHIFT evening will include dinner at O Noir. You'll have a choice between two courses (for $32 + taxes, tip & beverages) or three courses (for $39 + taxes, tip & beverages). Mike Verhey will lead the learning portion of the evening. We'll announce times later this month, but we will likely attend the 5:45 dinner service (the other option is 8:30 which would make a late evening for pracs from the suburbs).
