Greetings!

It's spring.

We love spring and it's never exactly what we expect.  Have you noticed? You dream of daffodils and bright green lawns and long sunny evenings.  But that's just not what you get in April in Toronto.

April in Toronto is messy and sometimes even a little bit unattractive.  It's parks soaked with muck and dead leaves and it's days that are warm one moment and snowing the next. It's often grey or mucky brown. It's frequently not warm, not glorious, and not inspiring.

Growth is like that.  It might arrive with a fanfare (change!!), but nothing much happens at first. There's a lot of uncertainty and hesitation and it's sometimes mucky and sometimes cold. It's hard to hold onto hope when hope looks so much like being stuck.

Except that when you look more closely, you see the green underneath the dead leaves and brown grass. You see the first little flowers pushing through the darkness and into the light.  You notice that it's still light when you get home from work, or that it's really too warm for a jacket. You notice that there are signs that spring is really here, that the seasons are really changing, and that good things are really on the way.

Hope is like that.  Tiny flowers that are clearly too frail to survive the snow and frost. Except that they do. Every spring.

9am to 5pm; Friday 7pm to 10pm
EHEricksonian Hypnosis with Mike Mandel

What makes this course so energizing that you will feel like you've been on a really great vacation? What makes it so precise that you will begin to develop powerful skills in calibration, hypnotic language patterns, honest unconscious communication and influence through trance? No one teaches hypnosis with more skill, more heart or more elegance than Dr. Mike Mandel. This course is a great place to start your practice of hypnosis (before you acquire unnecessary fears or sloppy techniques) and an equally great place to expand your experience and understanding after years of practice.  Learn how wonderfully healthy it is to be on good terms with your unconscious mind. Discover the power of observation, intention and playfulness in creating hypnotic experiences for powerful interventions in your own life or the lives of those you help.

Sunday April 17, 10am to 5pm
IntroA (Fresh) Introduction to NLP

This one day course will cover the three main benefits of studying NLP. You'll learn:
* how NLP applies to problem solving (and have a chance to solve a problem of your own)
* how NLP applies to optimal performance (and set yourself up to face a challenge or achieve a goal)
* how NLP will allow you to learn what you need to do what you want to do.

Many people will wonder why we don't add powerful influence to this one day course.  They don't realize that the key to powerful influence over others is being able to solve your own problems, create your own positive state, and understand how people get great results. From this position of strength, you will effortlessly become the kind of person other people give their attention, their understanding and their cooperation.

Tues April 19, 7:30pm to 9:30pm
SpringforwardA Balanced Spring Forward
Chris and Linda have both been practicing yoga and here's something we have learned: the best way to spring forward is to start from a position of balance.  If you want to be ready to spring into the warmth and growth that summer brings, this evening will help you find that point of strength and balance that makes you ready for the big jump.

Like yoga, practice in NLP is good for the newcomer and good for the long time practitioner. You might be a master practitioner who wants to stretch in good company. You might be someone who has heard about NLP and hopes it will be that secret edge you need to move forward.  Whoever you are and whatever you are springing into, we hope you will join us. It's going to be a great evening to experience the rush of clarity and energy that made NLP famous.

KeeleredGet Keelered! (restricted to NLP Practitioners and their guests)

Every Monday in May (except the long weekend), Chris Keeler is inviting practitioners to practice with him. You can expect deep and strange hypnotic phenomena and old school NLP that will release you to feel compelled to achieve your outcomes. There is no plan except to meet you where you are and allow you to transform your experience so it is more deeply satisfying to you. Expect small groups meeting in our office for wildly effective sessions and lots of fun. Get Keelered this May - you'll be really glad you did.

We will be meeting in our office: if you don't see us downstairs, just call Chris (416-816-9234) or Linda (289-242-5089) so we can let you in.

Tuesday May 10, 7:30pm to 9:30pm
RelaxedandReadyRelaxed and Ready
Summer will be just around the corner on May 10. Our long warm days are precious: we need to be ready to enjoy them from the moment they arrive.  It's just rotten when the sun is shining, the beverages are cold and you're stressed about something at work.

Coincidentally, the same state that prepares us to thoroughly enjoy the summer is also the optimal state for any activity that requires us to think and act at our best. Whether you are preparing for a big challenge at work or the best long weekend ever, this evening will prepare you to be relaxed and ready. NLP will give you fast, effective ways to let go of the tension you're holding in your muscles and quiet that voice in your head that's predicting catastrophe. You'll feel better and you'll get great results.

NLPpracNLP Practitioner CertificationTraining
This is our final weekend training before the fall, and we expect it to fill up quickly.  Take advantage of some of the longest and most pleasant days of the year and allow yourself to become more focused, more effective and more attentive to the people and achievements you value.  The first weekend teaches you techniques for clearing away the fears, false limitations and negative experiences that stand between you and the life you want.  In the second weekend, you'll learn to connect strongly with what others are thinking and feeling. You'll be more influential, less conflict-prone, and more able to learn from the models of excellence around you.  In the third weekend, we'll add layers of language to the skills you have developed so that your words begin to get the results you want more often.

NLP is a powerful set of practices that allow people to notice how they are getting the results they are getting and how to leverage change to get results they like better. Whether you are looking for more hope, more options or more powerful influence, NLP practitioner training will deliver results. And this course is now eligible for a tuition tax certificate.

NLPMasterNLP Master Practitioner Training
Research from many fields all points to the same conclusion: mastery in any field takes mindful practice over many hours. Great guidance can shorten the path from your first success to greater flexibility and predictability.  When you take the NLP Master Practitioner Certification program with NLP Canada Training, you'll get the support you need to deepen your understanding of the principles of NLP, apply the practices more flexibly in a wider range of situations, and develop your own priorities and methods for modelling excellence and leveraging change.

The Master Practitioner course has two parts: on Fridays, Master practitioner candidates stretch their understanding of the theory and practices of NLP.  On Saturdays and Sundays, the Master practitioner candidates participate in practitioner training. They lead exercises, observe the experience of the people around them, and learn more about strategies for creating congruence, building rapport and gaining the permission necessary for stronger influence.

Our pricing reflects the value we place on our continuing relationship with our practitioners. We look forward to having many of our Master Practitioners take leadership roles in our community.  This course is also now eligible for a tuition tax certificate.

We're Taking Our Training to Charlottetown, PEI!

We are very excited to be offering an NLP Practitioner certification course at the University of PEI in Charlottetown this summer. It's an opportunity to stretch our own comfort zone away from our beloved city park setting and to bring New Code NLP to a new audience.  It's also true that Linda has been a big fan of PEI for many years, and can't wait to be back on the Island.

The practitioner training will be just like the one in Toronto - except for the opportunity to walk on the beach in Stop the World, fully present to the smell of the salt, the cries of the gulls, and the cool PEI breeze against your skin.  Linda has already arranged for kitchen facilities so that our Maritime clients will know the particular pleasures of home-baked banana bread. They will walk (with Grace and Power and in each other's shoes) on the Confederation Trail and enjoy the quiet, common sense hospitality of the university campus.Entrance to UPEI

If you have friends or family out East, encourage them to take advantage of this rare opportunity to train close to home.  We want to spread the word and build the NLP Canada Training community outside of Ontario.  Please help us make it happen.

If you're thinking of taking the practitioner or Master Practitioner training, consider combining your training with a holiday in one of the prettiest places in Canada. The food and music are fresh and plentiful; the beaches are glorious, and the weather changes so often you're bound to have some you like.

Email Linda for more information.

Two very different perspectives on defining NLP

NLP was founded through the collaboration of Richard Bandler and John Grinder.
When you watch these two video clips, you will understand how very different they are.  Ask yourself: which one do I like better?  Then ask yourself: which one would I trust?  The answers will tell you something about your own values and interests.

We will, of course, continue to train the practices that Bandler and Grinder developed together, and the New Code practices that Grinder developed with Judith deLozier. We believe we offer an elegant and effective method for getting the best from yourself and others.

3 Reasons to Take Hypnosis with Mike Mandel
I sometimes hear people say they're not sure what they would get from Mike Mandel's hypnosis course.  Here are three things I tell them:
  1. You will feel terrific.  Four and a half days of going in and out of trance under the guidance of a master is just an amazing experience.  If you're clever, you will come prepared with an outcome you want to work on. You'll find the course drives progress so natural you hardly notice that you're getting exactly what you really wanted.
  2. You will learn the best techniques from the best teacher. Mike Mandel is absolutely the best. He is passionate about hypnosis and he is a master at allowing students to learn the techniques well enough to practice them with confidence.
  3. You will learn to pay intensely close attention to people. The foundation of hypnosis is rapport and the foundation of rapport is the ability to observe people with such supportive attention that they trust.
Why would you take hypnosis with Mike Mandel? It might be that you're ready to make great progress towards communicating consciously and unconsciously in ways that allow you to get what you want with less effort and better results.
