Just Think Outside
...the place for creativity
Welcome

Greetings!

I recently traveled to one of my favorite photography locations - the Low Country of South Carolina.  From Spanish moss hanging on the Live Oak trees to the high tide crashing onto the shore, it is a place of stunning beauty.  The images may be seen below.

Mallory Fine Art opened in Abingdon Virginia last week.  The gallery is owned by Polly Mallory and features artists located in the southeast.

I published a 44-page portfolio of my favorite tree images titled The Meaning in Trees.  Many of the images from this book may be seen at my upcoming exhibition at The William King Museum.

I will be presenting "The Fine Art of Photography" at the Townsend Artisan Guild on November 6th at 6PM.  The presentation illustrates the history of photography as a fine art.  The meeting will be held at the Conference Building of The Wood N' Strings Dulcimer Shop, 7645 Lamar Alexander Highway in Townsend.

Take Care,

Jeffrey

The Meaning in Trees - Portfolio

The Meaning in Trees is a new 44-page portfolio of my favorite tree images.

I was eight years old when I first had the desire to make an image. Walking outside after an overnight ice storm, I was mesmerized by an ice-covered tree glistening in the morning sun. I desperately wanted a camera to make that image.

My ongoing fascination with trees inspired me to make this special portfolio of my favorite tree images from the Mountain South to the Sea.   Many of the images from this book will be exhibited at The William King Museum.

The Meaning in Trees may be purchased in print or as a digital download from my publisherAutographed copies are available through my website

The Meaning in Trees - Exhibition

Panoramic Gallery of the William King Museum, Abingdon VA

October 30 through December 1, 2012

Trees are an integral part of many of my images. From a tree standing alone in the landscape to a tree-lined trail through the woods they elicit feelings of wonder, strength and comfort.

I invite you to view The Meaning in Trees and to join me for an artist's reception on Thursday evening November 1st from 5-8pm.  This is also the same night as Abingdon's "First Thursday" when the other art venues in town are open late.
