Just Think Outside
...the place for creativity
Greetings!

I was recently in Cass, WV to make images of Shay locomotives.

These Shay engines were used in the Cass lumbering operations with the oldest dating back to 1905.  They are now part of the Cass Scenic Railroad State Park which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013.

I've always found trains fascinating but this is the first time I experienced seeing, hearing and feeling steam powered locomotives.  Black smoke billows into the sky, the sound of the whistle is deafening, and you can feel the ground tremble as the engines power by.

For two days I photographed from before sunrise until after sunset and had an amazing experience.

I hope you enjoy these images from Cass.

Take care,

Jeffrey

The Meaning in Trees

Panoramic Gallery of the William King Museum, Abingdon VA

October 30 through December 1, 2012

Trees are an integral part of many of my images. From a tree standing alone in the landscape to a tree-lined trail through the woods they elicit feelings of wonder, strength and comfort.

I invite you to view The Meaning in Trees and to join me for an artist's reception on Thursday evening November 8th.

I greatly appreciate your interest in my photography and for subscribing to Just Think Outside

Sincerely,
