Just Think Outside
...the place for creativity
Greetings!

My goal is to make photographs that not only capture what I see but also what I feel.

In The Art of Photography Part I I show examples of the impact of light on a scene.  How the same scene at different times of the day has a totally different look and feel.

In this issue are examples of images that I made when returning to the same location at different times of the year.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Beauty Surrounds Us event that took place at Robin's on Roan this week.  Thank you to everyone that attended and made it a special evening.

Take care,

Jeffrey

Here are images of my favorite tree in the Great Smoky Mountains made during different seasons.  Though the images are of the same tree the feelings they evoke are quite different.

Kingsport TN

May 5, 2012

Kingsport Tennesse is holding their first annual Party on Market celebration of the arts.  The day begins at 10am with a sculpture walk led by curator Peggy Townsend.  Peggy is Chattanooga's Director of Public Art.

The Art Market will be open from 11a.m. to 4p.m. with booths set up on Market Street.  Visitors can also enjoy face painting, food vendors, a ballet performance, musicians in the street, theater performance and more.  In addition, the carvers and painters from the Kingsport Carousel Project will be displaying some of the animals they've been working on.

I will be at Style on Market Street showing my latest images.  Hope to see you there.

The Meaning in Trees

Panoramic Gallery of the William King Museum, Abingdon VA

October 30 through December 1, 2012

Trees are an integral part of many of my images. From a tree standing alone in the landscape to a tree-lined trail through the woods they elicit feelings of wonder, strength and comfort.

I invite you to view The Meaning in Trees and to join me for an artist's reception on Thursday evening November 8th.
