It happens often in The Gallery...
A group of customers walk into the gallery space and meander about the room, viewing the displays of fine art hung on the walls. A thoughtful silence ensues as artwork is studied and appreciated. Then they disappear behind the center wall, where Jeffrey Stoner fine art images are displayed.
That's when the art "party" begins. Suddenly I hear the familiar rustling sound of packaged photographs being rummaged through in their racks. Gasps of wonderment and excitement ensue, often followed by spontaneous discussion of where the subject matter was taken, when they have seen it in person or that the image evokes a memory of a similar location visited during the course of their life. Sometimes it is simply the effect of the captured early morning light, the face of an angora goat, or the magnificent clouds that touches the heart of the viewer.
What exactly is the magic element that causes such a verbal stir when a Jeffrey Stoner image is viewed? The answer is simple. Jeffrey Stoner creates visual stories with his fine art images. He is a storyteller of places we've been to or long to be a part of. He approaches his subject matter with a special angle and certain light appeal that turns on a switch in our mind. His photography draws us into the image, touching a special memory that lives within us. It taps into an emotion that we cannot help but to verbalize and share.
A Jeffrey Stoner image definitely makes for a happy customer. With purchased image in hand the new patron exits The Gallery, always excited to take their visual story home.
